Housemade Galaktoboureko
Galaktoboureko is a mouthwatering Greek, dessert of semolina custard that is layered between sheets of phyllo pastry, also known as filo or filo dough. The name for this dessert comes from the Greek word “Gala”, which means milk, and the Turkish word “Bourek”, which means pastry. It is served bathed with syrup. The first pastry shops serving Galaktoboureko in Greece date back over 100 years.
